Description
Dracunculus vulgaris is a very unusual plant, its appearance is spooky and intriguing. The blooms grow up to 3 feet tall with a dark purple, almost black spadix surrounded by a reddish-purple spathe. These Voodoo Lilies attract pollinators by producing an unsavory fragrance that usually only lasts for 1 day. It blooms from late spring to early summer and is toxic making them resistant to rabbits, gophers, and deer.
