Before & After: Snohomish Landscape Transformation

These Snohomish homeowners started with a blank slate—a typical new construction landscape of two trees, lots of sod, and no garden beds. They wanted to completely redesign their large lot, and we helped bring their vision to life!

Rick’s detailed design for the property included:

  • Raised vegetable beds
  • A “she shed”
  • A new back patio
  • A goldfish pond with a long waterfall/stream
  • A fire pit area
  • Crushed decorative paths throughout the garden
  • Fresh soil, trees, and plants for every area

Because of budget constraints, the project was broken into phases. Phase one focused on the back garden patio, water feature, planting the trees, and landscaping the area closest to the back of the house.

Pro Tip: A detailed garden design ensures everything is installed in the correct order, preventing costly mistakes and rework.

We’re happy to help you install your dream garden in phases as your budget allows. Ready to get started? Let’s talk!

Before & After: West Seattle Garden Transformation

Our West Seattle clients wanted a fresh, functional backyard design that seamlessly combined style and practicality. They saw the potential for their outdoor space but needed help bringing their vision to life. That’s where we came in!

Rick took the lead on the design and created a plan that ticked all the boxes. The new space included raised vegetable beds for homegrown produce, a bubbling three-column water feature to add movement and relaxation, and a custom “boulder” fire pit that became the star of the project.

Here’s how our boulder fire pits are made: we take a massive boulder, cut it in half, hollow it out, polish the top, and install a fire ring. These fire pits run on propane or natural gas, making it easy for homeowners to enjoy cozy fires year-round.

While designing this backyard, we encountered a unique challenge: the sheer size of the fire pit combined with the limited access on the side of their house. Our equipment couldn’t make it through. The solution? A crane. We lifted the fire pit over their house and set it into place—a detail that makes this project unforgettable.

After installing fresh soil and plants, the transformation was complete: a stunning, functional garden perfect for entertaining, relaxing, and growing fresh vegetables.

💧 Water Love: Perfect for boggy areas or ponds. They can be planted in shallow water or up to 6 inches below the waterline. They also do well in water-filled containers or hydroponic systems.
