Our Classes are back for August & September
We are thrilled to announce we will be bringing our free classes back this August and September.
Starting with August 10th for Pond Building 101 (1pm-3pm)
This class covers every aspect of pond building for the do-it-yourselfer. How big do I want my pond? Where will I place it? How difficult is it to keep fish and do I even want them? How do I keep predators out of the pond? What equipment should I include? How do I build a pondless water feature? Answer these questions and more in this all encompassing course. At the end of this class you will be ready to start digging out your water feature! This class usually runs about 2 hours.
August 17th for Bubblers & Spitters (1pm-2pm)
Are you interested in a water feature but short on space? Looking for a less expensive water feature? Perhaps you’re not interested in the naturalistic pond style and prefer something a little more modern. Bubbling pots and spitters are a great option. You’ll be surprised to know just how easy and economical this type of water feature can be. Whether it’s an overflowing pot, a shallow pool with a bamboo spigot, or a series of spitters, you’ll learn how, and what you need to do it. This class usually runs about 1 hour.
August 24th for Pond Building 102 (1pm-3pm)
This class quickly recaps pond building 101 and then spends the rest of the course going over how to properly build a waterfall/stream that will not leak! This is the area most DIY’s struggle with. You will get the tricks and tips, the do’s and don’ts, that we have gained building ponds since 2000. This class usually runs about 1.5 hours.
September 7th for Aquatic Plants (1pm-2pm)

Before & After for Monroe Garden Project

Check out our latest backyard transformation right here in Monroe! We kicked things off by building a retaining wall, instantly adding 8 feet of space to a compact garden. Next, we brought in fresh soil and laid down a lush new lawn. Our work got the homeowners so pumped, they invited us back to plant a bunch of beautiful greens in their new beds. And of course, we delivered.
Before & After Issaquah Pond & Design Project

Got a cool pond makeover story from Issaquah to share! A client snagged a new place that came with a snazzy water feature, but here’s the twist – he wanted it Koi-friendly. Original setup? Not so great for keeping those fish safe from hungry visitors. Interior filled rocks, shelves, and slopes? Nope, not Koi-friendly at all.
So, what did we do? We went full makeover mode. Out went the old pond, and in came a Koi paradise: 18 feet long, 25 feet wide, and 4 feet deep, holding a grand total of 11,000 gallons of water. We added a powerhouse pump for the waterfalls, dual skimmers, a top-notch bead filter, an almighty UV sterilizer, and lighting above and below the water. Now, that’s how you turn a pond into a palace fit for Koi!

Dive into the elegance of Shusui Koi! Originating from Japan in the 1910s, this unique koi variety is renowned for its dramatic blue-black scales on the back and vivid, scaleless red sides.
Born from a cross between Asagi Koi and Mirror Carp, Shusui means “autumn water” and brings a striking beauty to any pond.
With a typical length of 18-30 inches, Shusui Koi thrive are perfectly hardy in our PNW weather.
Their scale pattern is not only rare—it enhances their vibrant body, making them a centerpiece in aquatic settings.
Add a splash of living art to your waterscape with Shusui Koi!

Hardy Water Lilies
These beautiful plants are perennials that survive cold winters (yep, they’re tougher than tropical lilies).
Hardy water lilies return each year from their rhizomes as long as the water doesn’t freeze solid.
Their floating flowers come in stunning colors like white, pink, yellow, and red. Bonus: they bloom during the day—open in the morning and close by afternoon.
Hardiness: Perfect for USDA Zones 3-11.
Benefits:
- Add beauty to ponds & water features
- Provide shade + reduce algae
- Offer shelter in the pond ecosystem
- Attract pollinators like bees, butterflies, & hummingbird

Phlox Paniculata
A timeless garden favorite that towers at 2 to 4 feet with an upright posture, perfect in the back of a border or as a centerpiece, it promises to enchant.
From the heart of summer to the whisper of fall, its blooms come alive in a captivating palette of white, pink, red, purple, and lavender.
A native gem to the eastern and central US, Phlox Paniculata thrives in USDA zones 4 to 8, making it a hardy addition to any landscape.
Moreover, its role transcends beauty – attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, making your garden a buzzing hub of activity.
